In ancient times, the sacred sexual priestesses were revered in their communities. They were in charge of making sure everyone was cared for by redistributing the wealth of those who had plenty to the widows and orphans and sick in the community. They initiated men into the art of lovemaking. The men of the village would visit them when they were struggling with a choice, same as the kings and powerful merchants of the time. They were considered the embodiment of the Goddess-as am I.
